Northampton PHV driver fined by Magistrates' Court after running over passenger’s foot

A Northampton private hire vehicle (PHV) driver who caused serious injury to a passenger’s foot by driving without due care and attention has been fined by Magistrates.

Mohammed Dilal Miah, 49, pleaded guilty to the offence that occurred in October 2022 in Brampton Lane.

The incident happened after a passenger caught their foot underneath the licensed Mercedes-Benz rear wheel when it pulled away.

Miah was handed a £498 fine, in addition to £309 that he was ordered to pay towards the prosecution costs and a victim surcharge. Additionally, his licence was endorsed with seven points.
