Nottinghamshire Police taxi driver appeal following assault which left a man in critical condition

Nottinghamshire Police are desperate to speak to any taxi drivers who may have information to assist their investigation into a serious assault which has left a 20-year-old man in a critical condition.

The incident happened in Long Row just before 4am on Saturday 18 January. A cordon was put in place whilst forensic enquiries were conducted, but has now been removed.

Detective Inspector Richard Monk, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "The incident happened in the city centre as many people will have been leaving bars and nightclubs and we believe a number of people may have witnessed the attack.

"I would urge people to come forward as soon as possible as their information could be vital to the investigation. I would also like to hear from anyone who has dash-cam footage who travelled past the location.

“I specifically want to appeal to any taxi drivers who may have been parked or travelling in that location around that time to come forward.

“Please call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 132 of 18 January 2020, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
