South West private hire giants V Cars is changing its name to Veezu
Updated: Oct 23, 2022
One of the South West’s biggest private hire firms V Cars is changing its name to Veezu.
Veezu, widely regarded as one of the UK's fastest growing private hire technology platforms, operates across 24 local authority licences in the UK and connects more than 8,000 ‘driver-partners’ with passengers who completed, on average, one ride every two and half seconds in 2021.
V Cars was acquired by Veezu in July 2017. The origins of V Cars date back some 40 years through acquisitions of local private hire taxi brands such as Abbey Taxis in Bath and Chippenham, Clifton Taxi Co and Streamline Taxis in Bristol.
Veezu has begun rolling out an extensive marketing campaign entitled ‘smarter local rides’ as it debuts its consumer facing name in the PHV market. It will be complimented with the introduction of local community initiatives to residents across the southwest.
Nathan Bowles, Veezu CEO, said: "We are firmly putting the Veezu name on the map in the southwest. The change will help simplify our business, plus create a consistency as the brand of choice for driver-partners, passengers and business accounts.
“The re-brand expands beyond a name change. It is an opportunity for us to build on hyperlocal activities to ensure we remain at the centre of our communities across Bath, Bristol, Swindon and Chippenham."
