Police appeal after taxi collision leaves man seriously injured in Colchester

Essex Police have issued an appeal for information after a silver Nissan taxi was involved in a serious collision with a pedestrian in Colchester, leaving a man with significant injuries.


The incident occurred on Highwoods Approach at around 3.50pm on Friday 12 December. Police said the man was taken to hospital, where he remains being treated for serious injuries. No further update on his condition has been provided.

Officers from Essex Police Colchester District are asking for witnesses or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage from the area at the time to come forward. The appeal includes footage from passing vehicles, nearby properties, or commercial premises.


Anyone with information is asked to quote incident number 845 of 12 December when contacting Essex Police. Reports can be submitted online or via the force’s live chat service, which operates around the clock.
