Police appeal after taxi driver assaulted during early morning fare in Northampton

Police are appealing for the public’s help to identify a man following an assault on a taxi driver in the Semilong area of Northampton.
The incident happened between 3.15am and 3.25am on Thursday 18 June after the driver picked up a fare in St Paul’s Road. The taxi driver was subsequently assaulted.
Northamptonshire Police has released an image of a man officers believe may have information that could assist their investigation. Detectives are urging the man, or anyone who recognises him, to come forward.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 26000358354. Information can also be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Members of the public can also submit information online through the Northamptonshire Police reporting portal or the Crimestoppers website. Officers are continuing their enquiries into the incident.
