Police appeal for footage and information after Halloween taxi brawl

Avon and Somerset Police have launched an appeal for footage and information relating to a serious assault that took place at a Halloween event held at The Bath & West Showground near Shepton Mallet.

The incident, which left three men injured, occurred during the early hours of 29 October at approximately 2.30am during the Westfest event.

According to a statement provided by an Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson, two of the men involved in the incident were treated at a hospital for facial injuries, including a fractured ear bone. However, both individuals have since been released and are recovering at home.

The assault reportedly took place following a confrontation about a taxi on the edge of the event site. Police believe that the incident occurred in a busy area, and they are now urging members of the public who may have captured any footage or photos to come forward and help with their investigation.

In addition to appealing to attendees of the event, the police are also encouraging taxi drivers who were present in the area around the time of the incident to check if their dashcam footage captured any relevant information.

Investigating officers are particularly interested in any material that may shed light on the events leading up to and during the assault.

Anyone with information or footage pertaining to the incident is urged to contact Avon and Somerset Police as soon as possible. Anonymous tips can also be passed on to the independent charity Crimestoppers.
