Police appeal for information following assault at Mansfield taxi rank

Nottinghamshire Police in Mansfield are appealing for information after a man was assaulted at a taxi rank in the early hours of 21 July 2024.

The incident occurred on Garden Road, where a man in his 40s was knocked unconscious by a punch to the face.

The victim required hospital treatment for his injuries but has since been discharged.

Investigators have been meticulously reviewing CCTV footage and conducting local inquiries as part of their efforts to piece together the events of that night. They have now released an image of a man they believe may hold crucial information about the attack.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the police immediately.

Police Constable Siantai Scott, Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was an unpleasant assault and we believe it to have been completely unprovoked.

“We want to speak to the man pictured as part of our investigation so please get in touch if you know who he is.

“If you have any other information, or dashcam, CCTV or mobile phone footage, please get in touch.”
