Police in Edinburgh are appealing for a taxi driver to come forward after a four-year-old boy was struck at a pedestrian crossing on South Gyle Broadway.
The incident occurred around 3.15pm on Tuesday 15 April near Burne Cruik. The child was taken to The Royal Hospital for Children and Young People with minor injuries.
Officers say the vehicle involved was a black people carrier style taxi. The driver reportedly stopped briefly following the collision but left the scene without providing any contact details. The vehicle was last seen heading towards the South Gyle Access Road.
Road policing officers are urging the driver to make contact and assist with their enquiries. They are also asking anyone with dashcam footage or who witnessed the incident to come forward.
Enquiries remain ongoing to trace the driver involved.
Constable Kristof Hona said: "We are appealing for the driver, or anyone that knows who the driver is, to come forward.
"If you were in the area at the time and have dash cam footage that could be useful in our investigation, get in touch."
