Police arrest man after car ploughs into pedestrians in London’s Kensington

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed the arrest of a man after a vehicle collided with two pedestrians in Sloane Square.

Cordons were put in place and buildings in the surrounding area were evacuated as a precaution while officers searched the vehicle.

The man was subsequently arrested for driving offences. Further details await and enquires continue.

Officers confirmed that the incident wasn’t being treated as terror related.

Tory MP Greg Hands took to Twitter and said he had heard the "vehicle mounted the pavement and struck pedestrians".

He wrote: "I'm hearing that a vehicle mounted the pavement and struck pedestrians. Am checking with eye-witnesses that everyone is OK."
