Police investigate early morning assault involving suspected ’taxi’ in Knaresborough

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for information following an assault in Knaresborough that left a man with facial injuries.
The incident took place at around 4.35am on Sunday 3 August at the junction of Golden Arrow Way and Half Penny Lane. A man had entered what he believed to be a taxi before an altercation occurred with the driver.
The man was later treated in hospital for facial injuries. Officers say he is unsure whether the vehicle was a licensed taxi or one posing as one. Police are now working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Officers are urging anyone who saw or heard anything in the area at the time to come forward. They are also asking residents with CCTV or Ring doorbell footage to check for any relevant recordings.
