Police release CCTV image after North Yorkshire taxi rank assault leaves man hospitalised

Detectives from North Yorkshire Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to as part of an ongoing investigation into an assault that left a man in his 20s in hospital with serious head injuries.
The incident occurred at around 12.40am on Friday near the taxi rank in Richmond Market Place. Police said the victim was punched by another man, causing him to fall to the ground.
Emergency services attended the scene and the injured man was taken to hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.
Detectives confirmed the investigation is continuing and said officers are reviewing evidence and following up lines of enquiry.
North Yorkshire Police are seeking to trace a man following a serious assault near a taxi rank in Richmond Market Place.
Police are also appealing for witnesses who may have been in the area at the time but have not yet come forward.
