Police release CCTV image after taxi driver punched multiple times in Rotherham assault
South Yorkshire Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with an assault on a taxi driver in Rotherham.
According to police sources the taxi driver was punched multiple times in Grange Lane, Maltby, east of Rotherham’s town centre, last month.
It is reported that on 17 August at around 9:30pm a taxi driver was driving four men from the Thrybergh area towards East Dene. The taxi stopped at an address in Grange Lane, Maltby, where three of the four passengers got out.
The remaining man is then reported to have assaulted the driver, punching him repeatedly in the face.
The man was removed from the taxi and the victim was able to drive away.
Enquiries are ongoing but officers are keen to identify the man in the image as they may be able to assist with enquiries.
