Police release image after taxi driver threatened and vehicle damaged with wine bottle in Nottingham

Police are seeking the public’s help to identify a man after a taxi driver was threatened and had his vehicle damaged in Nottingham.
The incident happened at around 8.15pm on Saturday 26 April 2025 in Crocus Street, The Meadows. The taxi driver was waiting for his next fare when he was approached by a woman who asked him to move on.
Shortly afterwards, a man came out of a nearby property. He reportedly struck the taxi’s window with a wine bottle, attempted to open the vehicle’s doors, and damaged the car’s registration plate.
Nottinghamshire Police have carried out initial enquiries and have now released an image of a man they wish to speak to as part of their investigation.
Anyone with information about the man or the incident is urged to call police on 101 and quote incident number 25000252572.
Police Constable Sophie Anderson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The victim was simply doing his job when he was threatened and his taxi damaged.
“He has been left feeling anxious as a result and we want to trace whoever was responsible.
“We believe the individual pictured could have important information and wish to take his account of the incident.”
