Police seek man after mistaking car for taxi and punching glass in late-night Swindon incident

Wiltshire Police have released CCTV images as part of an investigation into a public order offence in Swindon.
The incident took place at around 11.20pm on Friday 18 July in Station Road. A man entered a car believing it to be a taxi. When asked to leave, he verbally abused the driver and punched the vehicle’s glass.
Officers believe the person shown facing the camera in the released images may be able to assist with enquiries.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: ”We are looking to identify the person facing the camera in these CCTV images.
“Officers investigating a public order offence believe he may be able to help with their enquiries.
“A man entered a car in Station Road, Swindon, at about 11.20pm on Friday 18 July, believing it to be a taxi.
“He has then verbally abused the driver when he was asked to get out of the vehicle and punched the glass.
