British Transport Police (BTP) officers are appealing for help to identify a man following an assault and theft at Hull Paragon Interchange in the early hours of 4 May.

The incident happened shortly after 6am when a 29-year-old man left a nearby nightclub and made his way to the taxi rank. Another man, who had exited the same venue, asked to share a cab. When the request was refused, he snatched the victim’s wallet and refused to return it.

The situation escalated when the victim was punched to the ground. After briefly leaving the area, the victim returned and saw the man still present. On asking again for the wallet, the offender allegedly grabbed the man’s head and bit his left cheek, drawing blood.

Officers have now released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the investigation. They believe he may have information relevant to the case.

Anyone with information is urged to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 731 of 8 May 2025. Reports can also be made anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
