Police seek witnesses as drunk e-scooter rider collides with taxi who fails to stop at scene

North Yorkshire Police are seeking witnesses and dashcam footage following a collision involving an electric scooter and a taxi in Harrogate.
The incident occurred around 6.45pm on Saturday 1 June, at the junction of York Place and South Park Road.
The electric scooter rider, injured in the collision, was taken to hospital and later discharged. The rider is currently under investigation for failing a roadside breath-test, exceeding the prescribed alcohol limit, and not having insurance.
The taxi driver involved did not stop at the scene, prompting police to request the driver to come forward.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, saw the vehicles prior to the incident, or has relevant dashcam footage to come forward. Additionally, anyone who observed the scooter being used at the time of or before the collision is urged to contact the authorities.
