Preston taxi driver allegedly racially abused and spat at during Coronavirus pandemic


British Transport Police have released CCTV images after a taxi driver was racially abused at Preston railway station, Lancashire.


The alleged incident happened at 3.30pm on Tuesday 17 March.

Two men are reported to have racially abused the driver after he asked them to remove their electric scooter from his taxi.


One of the men is then reported to have spat at the victim.

Officers would like to speak to the men in the images who may have information that could help their investigation.


Anyone who recognises them is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40. In both cases, quote reference number 2000026022. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
