Six arrested after assault near Canterbury taxi rank, police appeal for witnesses

Detectives from Kent Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Canterbury city centre that left two men injured.
Officers were called to Canterbury Lane at around 4.30am on Sunday 29 March 2026 after reports of a disturbance near a taxi rank. Two men in their 30s sustained multiple head and facial injuries during the incident.
Emergency services attended the scene, including paramedics, and both victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment. They have since been discharged.
Six men, aged between 19 and 42 and all from the local area, were arrested on suspicion of assault. They have been bailed while investigations continue.

Kent Police said enquiries remain ongoing and is urging anyone with information who has not yet spoken to officers to come forward.
