Taxi and mobility scooter collision leaves 78-year-old woman seriously injured in Worthing

An investigation has been launched after a taxi was involved in a collision with a mobility scooter rider in Worthing, leaving a 78-year-old woman with serious injuries.


The incident occurred at around 11.05am on Wednesday 27 May in Buckingham Road.

According to police, a Ford Transit Custom is reported to have reversed into the woman while she was riding a mobility scooter.


Emergency services attended the scene and the woman was taken to hospital for treatment. Police have confirmed she sustained serious injuries.



Police are appealing for witnesses after a mobility scooter rider suffered serious injuries following a collision with a taxi in Worthing.


Officers are continuing enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision.


Sussex Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have captured relevant dashcam or CCTV footage, to come forward.


Anyone with information is asked to report it online or call 101, quoting serial 590 of 27 May.
