Taxi driver arrested on suspicion of drink-driving in Mansfield after off-duty officer spotted erratic driving

A 44-year-old taxi driver has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after an off-duty police officer spotted the vehicle being driven erratically in Mansfield.
The taxi was seen in Rosemary Street shortly before 3.15pm on Monday 14 September.
Police pulled over the vehicle and carried out a roadside breath test before arresting the driver. No further details about the test result or the man’s licensing status have been released.
Inspector Katie Eustace, district commander for Mansfield, said: “As police officers, we have a responsibility to protect and serve the public both in and out of uniform.
“By acting in the way he did, the officer in this case was able to take a potentially dangerous driver off the streets and protect the public.”
