Taxi driver assaulted by ‘Navy uniform’ wearing passenger after fare dispute say police
A taxi driver in Helensburgh was kicked during an assault by a passenger during a disagreement over a fare, according to local police.
The incident took place on Tuesday 17 October, around 11.45pm on East Abercromby Street. The driver was reportedly kicked multiple times by the passenger, who was wearing a Navy uniform. The suspect fled the scene after the assault, leaving the driver.
Police officers in Helensburgh have launched an appeal for information, urging the public to come forward with any details that may help identify and locate the individual responsible. The passenger is described as a white man aged between 25-35 years, with short dark hair and a groomed beard.
They are urging anyone with information related to the assault to contact Police Scotland on the non-emergency number 101, specifically asking for the Helensburgh police office.
