Taxi driver in hospital with serious injuries after crash with double decker bus in Manchester

A taxi driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a double-decker bus and taxi collided in Greater Manchester.
At around 11.30pm on Sunday 17 July, police officers received a report of a collision on Henrietta Street and Albion Way in the Ashton-under-Lyne area.
Enquiries established that the taxi, a Renault Transit, and a Stagecoach double decker collided at the junction. Neither the taxi or bus were carrying passengers.
The driver of the taxi – a 63-year-old man was taken to hospital, where he remains with serious injuries. The driver of the bus is assisting officers with their enquiries.
Officers are now particularly keen to speak to anyone who has dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area in the moments before the collision.
