Taxi passenger attacked while waiting for ‘pre-booked cab’ at Rushden Lakes

A man was assaulted while waiting for a pre-booked taxi at Rushden Lakes, prompting an appeal for witnesses from Northamptonshire Police.


The incident took place between 1.05pm and 1.10pm on Saturday 13 June. According to police, the victim was waiting for his taxi when an unknown man began taking photographs of him.

When challenged, the suspect allegedly ran towards the victim and punched him, causing him to fall to the ground. Police say the offender then repeatedly kicked and punched the victim during the attack.


The suspect is described as a white male of slim build, approximately 5ft 8in tall, in his early to mid-20s. He was reportedly wearing a black cap and a black hoodie featuring white print on the back.


Officers are now seeking anyone who witnessed the assault or who may have information that could assist their investigation. Anyone with relevant details is asked to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101, quote incident number 26000344604, or submit information online via Northamptonshire Police reporting portal⁠.
