Teenage e-scooter rider suffers life-threatening injuries after collision with taxi
A teenager remains in hospital after suffering life-threatening injuries in a collision between an e-scooter and a taxi.
The collision happened in Nottingham at the junction of Ilkeston Road and Alfreton Road shortly after 2.30am on Wednesday 16 June.
The 19-year-old e-scooter rider was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre with leg injuries. Her condition deteriorated and her injuries were later described as life-threatening.
Detective chief Inspector Nick Waldram, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We were called to reports of a collision in Alfreton Road in the city centre at 2.40am on Wednesday morning.
“A 19-year-old woman was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre where her condition has deteriorated. The casualty’s next-of kin has been informed.
“An investigation into the cause of the collision is under way. Witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 79 of 16 June.”
