Three people were seriously injured after a taxi collided with a broken-down van that was being pushed along the A585 in West Lancashire on Sunday evening, according to Lancashire Police.
Police said a white Peugeot Bipper van had broken down near Windy Harbour in Fylde and was being pushed towards the side of the carriageway by two men when it was struck by a blue Volkswagen Transporter taxi at about 6.15pm.
The van driver, a man in his 60s, sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital. A man in his 30s who had stopped to assist with moving the vehicle, and the taxi driver, were also taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
A woman in her 60s who was travelling as a passenger in the Peugeot Bipper suffered minor injuries and received treatment.

The incident adds to ongoing concerns for taxi and private hire operators around roadside hazards, particularly collisions involving stationary or slow-moving vehicles on high-speed routes.
Police enquiries are continuing and the A585 experienced disruption while emergency services attended the scene and vehicles were recovered.
Sgt Thomas Cooper-Malley said: "If you have dashcam or CCTV footage of the collision, or of the A585 near to Windy Harbour between 6pm and 6.20pm please do get in touch with us.
"We are also aware that there may be people who witnessed the collision that we haven't yet spoken to.
"If this is you, or if you know someone who was travelling on that road at the time, please let us know."
