A popular taxi driver and YouTuber has revealed the true cost of running a taxi in the capital… nearly £17,000!
In the video Tom Hutley, a London taxi driver and successful YouTuber, posted details of the costs involved to over 24,000 subscribers.
Taxi driving is seen by some as a profitable profession, but the cabbie was keen to explore and detail the expenses cabbies must cover.
Breaking down vehicle costs, insurance, licensing and many more expenses Tom’s annual costs come in at £16,780!
Tom’s YouTube channel has been a hit with viewers ever since it first launched in March 2020. The London black cab driver and qualified taxi guide completed the ‘Knowledge of London’ in 2017 after 3 years of studying.
Tom has also published a book about his time on the Knowledge, and recently progressed to Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers.
