Two men plead guilty to horrific Glasgow taxi driver knife attack

Two men have pleaded guilty to the terrifying knife attack on a Glasgow cabbie in August 2019.

Sajid Javed, 36, suffered stab and slash wounds to his head and body, including a badly severed ear. The driver was assaulted yards from his home in Govan, Glasgow and received emergency treatment at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

The driver was stabbed by Gordon McPherson, 21, and repeatedly punched by Dylan Sullivan, 20.

According to the Daily Record, Pat Callendar told Glasgow Sheriff Court: “They began to assault him. McPherson struck Mr Javed on the head and body with a knife while Sullivan repeatedly punched him on the head."

The men have now pleaded guilty to the crime, which has left Sajid scarred for life, and will be sentenced next week. Both were remanded in custody.

Javed now says he has been left too terrified to return to his job.
