Two people charged with assault of taxi driver who was left with severe neck injuries

A man and woman have been charged in connection with the serious assault of a taxi driver in Colne.
The incident happened on Tuesday 9 February, at around 7:45pm on Ruskin Avenue and left the victim, a man in his sixties, with severe neck injuries. He remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
Liam O’Callaghan, 23, of Ruskin Avenue and Jamie Birkett, 21, of Hope Street, Nelson have both been charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and will appear before Preston Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 13 February.
