Uber Technologies and Click&Boat have launched a seasonal collaboration allowing travellers to book leisure boat trips through redirection from the Uber app across Mediterranean holiday destinations.
The service, running from mid-June until October, enables users to access boat hire options via a boat icon within the Uber app before completing reservations on the Click&Boat platform. The offer is limited to the “Daily with Skipper” category, with customers choosing from a curated fleet of around 4,000 vessels that include a professional skipper.
The partnership will cover more than 20 coastal cities across Spain, France, Italy, Croatia and Portugal, targeting tourists seeking short-term leisure experiences during the peak summer travel period. The move extends Uber’s push into broader travel and lifestyle services beyond urban mobility.
The announcement was made during Uber’s GO-GET 2026 event in New York, where the company outlined plans to position itself as a wider travel platform integrating multiple transport and leisure options into a single app ecosystem.
UK holidaymakers can now access skippered boat rentals via the Uber app in more than 20 coastal destinations across Southern Europe this summer.
For marine tourism operators and charter businesses, the collaboration provides additional exposure to Uber’s international customer base, particularly UK travellers heading to Southern Europe. The arrangement could also increase demand for skippered day-charter services in high-volume tourist destinations where app-based booking and convenience are becoming more important factors in consumer travel behaviour.
Click&Boat said Sardinia is emerging as a stronger market among UK customers, reporting a 43.4% increase in bookings between 2024 and 2025. The company said the figures point to growing interest in less crowded Mediterranean destinations offering scenic and remote coastal experiences.
Christian Berces, CEO at Click&Boat, said: “We are pleased to collaborate with Uber to make boating experiences more accessible to holidaymakers across Southern Europe. In the past year, 93% of our UK bookings have been for trips lasting less than a day, highlighting strong demand for short-term rentals and making Uber a natural partner to expand access to on-demand boating.
“Croatia has emerged as one of the most popular destinations among UK travellers, while locations such as Sardinia are also seeing significant growth, with bookings from UK travellers increasing by 43.4% between 2024 and 2025. While we will be trialling in these areas, there is scope to expand beyond the 60 destinations selected.
“Our move reflects a broader shift in travel in the experience economy, with younger travellers seeking unique moments and activities that will also make good social content. Many islands, coves and coastal areas remain inaccessible by land, and this partnership offers a more flexible way to reach them, without the commitment of a full-day charter or the cost of traditional excursions.”
