Uber has launched a new premium ride option called Uber Elite, aimed at delivering a chauffeur-style travel experience for high-end customers and business travellers.
The new service was announced by Pradeep Parameswaran, Global Head of Mobility at Uber, who described the product as a significant expansion of the platform’s luxury travel offering. Writing on social media, Parameswaran said: “Today we’re launching Uber Elite: a new offering that blends the unmatched scale of our platform with the precision and polish of a professional chauffeur service.”
Uber Elite is initially being made available on an invite-only basis to selected Uber Black and Uber for Business customers in Los Angeles and San Francisco. The company said the service will also launch in New York City soon, with further US and international cities expected to follow.
According to Uber, the product is designed to appeal to premium commuters and frequent travellers seeking a higher-end experience than typical ride-hailing options. Parameswaran said the service “will deliver a truly elevated, white-glove experience for riders who expect nothing less than exceptional”.

The offering includes high-end vehicles and a range of additional services typically associated with traditional chauffeur operations. Features include airport meet-and-greet services, in-vehicle amenities, the ability to request specific trip requirements and round-the-clock phone support for customers.
“In addition to high-end vehicles, Uber Elite customers will get access to several premium features, including Airport Meet & Greet, in-vehicle amenities, special requests for their trips, and 24/7 phone support,” Parameswaran said.
Uber has increasingly focused on expanding its premium and business travel products in recent years, targeting corporate travellers and higher-spending customers as the ride-hailing market matures in major cities.
Parameswaran said the launch represents “a meaningful step forward in how we serve premium commuters and global travellers and raises the bar for luxury mobility on Uber”.
