WARNINGS ISSUED: Roads Police Scotland conducts checks on taxis and PHVs in Galashiels

Galashiels Roads Police accompanied by the Scottish Borders Council licensing officer, carried out an operation to inspect taxis and private hire vehicles in the area.

A total of 15 vehicles were stopped during the operation, resulting in several warnings being issued for lighting and tyre-related issues.

The Roads Police Scotland spokesperson took to social media to inform the public about the operation, highlighting the importance of ensuring safety standards are met by all vehicles operating commercially.

A Roads Police Scotland spokesperson said on social media: “Galashiels Roads Police were out with the Scottish Borders Council licensing officer this morning, checking taxis and private hire vehicles.


“A total of 15 vehicles were stopped, with various warnings issued regarding lights and tyres.”
