Police officers and licensing officers in the Wirral area have suspended two taxi vehicles from working after being found to be in a ‘dangerous condition’.

The vehicles were found yesterday as part Operation Cryogen. Wirral targeted officers worked alongside Wirral Council Taxi Licensing Officers during the operation.

Officers conducted several checks on licensed private hire and taxi vehicles located around Wirral. The checks conducted were to ensure vehicles were safe and legal to be on the road.

Officers issued TWELVE taxis with defective notices and two taxis were suspended.

The cabs suspended were found to be in a ‘dangerous condition’ which included ramps missing bolts and seats insecure within the vehicle.

In photos shared by the police the taxi ramp found to be dangerous was missing at least two fixings.

A spokesperson from Wirral Police said via social media: “We conduct these checks to ensure that the public can use licenced vehicles knowing they are safe and legal to be on the roads.”
