A woman has been caught travelling in the boot of her husband's car during a non-essential journey by North West Motorway Police.

The couple had made a trip from Coventry to Salford to collect an EBay item worth £15.

The windows which were purchased took up so much space in the vehicle that the woman was forced to travel the return trip in the boot of the car.

When officers pulled the vehicle over to question whether the journey was essential, they found the woman in the boot.

The couple were stopped on the M6 and issued a Traffic Offence Report (TOR) and will now face charges.

Twitter users couldn't help but throw some comical comments out there, with one saying "what a pane" and another writing "maybe she saw a window of opportunity".
