Woman dies after collision with taxi in Stockton

A woman involved in the collision with a taxi in Stockton in the early hours of Sunday 11 February 2024 has sadly died.


Kayleigh Daggett, 38, died in hospital following the incident which happened shortly after 1am on Prince Regent Street, the A1305, between Bishopton Lane and Dovecot Street near to KFC.

Officers investigating this tragic incident continue to appeal for witnesses and information.


A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. He has been released on bail pending further investigation.

Kayleigh’s family have released a tribute to her. They said: “We are absolutely devastated to have lost our wonderful Kayleigh. She was a lovely daughter and sister to three brothers and a fabulous mother. Kayleigh had so much to look forward to in life and we can’t put into words how much we will miss her.”


A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 and pass information to the force control room, quoting reference number 025075.”
