Worthing taxi marshals set to return for England’s remaining 2024 fixtures

Worthing Borough Council has announced the return of taxi marshals to the town centre during the latter stages of Euro 2024, with the aim of enhancing safety for all attendees.

The council plans to deploy marshals following England matches, should the team advance to the latter stages of Euro 2024. Updates on timings and dates will be posted on the council’s Facebook page.

Marshals will be stationed at the main taxi rank on Chapel Road. Easily identifiable, they will assist visitors and help manage any late-night disturbances.

This initiative is part of the council's broader strategy to ensure the safety of women and other vulnerable community members during night-time outings. The presence of marshals is intended to provide reassurance and a safe means of getting home.

This proactive measure by Worthing Borough Council follows a similar initiative during the Worthing Pride celebrations held on 6 July.
