Brisbane Uber driver to stand trial for raping a teenager

An Uber driver from Brisbane Australia is to stand trial for raping a 16 year old girl.
Anil Elavithungal Thomas picked up the teenager from a supermarket and was supposed to take her to Manly West.
It is alleged that he took the teenager to a deserted street and raped the girl.
9 News have reported that the assault, which took place in July 2017 was reported to the police a few days later and Thomas was subsequently charged.
Thomas is to stand trial at Brisbane District Court.
