Minicab driver in critical condition after suffering heart failure during an attack in Stamford Hill

A minicab driver is in a critical condition after being attacked by a group of armed men in Stamford Hill, North London.

The man, who is believed to be in his late 50s suffered a heart attack after the vehicle he was driving was followed by the occupants of a white Ford Focus.,   

The driver, who had passengers in his vehicle, was subsequently cornered at the junction of Amhurst Park Road and Rav Pinter Close, where four or five, armed males armed got out of their vehicle and attacked the car.

The incident took place on Saturday evening with emergency sevices being called at around 11:30 p.m. The minicab driver was trested at the scene before being rushed to hospital, where he remains, fighting for his life.

The Evening Standard reported that the group smashed the windows of the vehicle before leaving the scene of the attack.

The three other passengers in the minicab all escaped unharmed, in what police believe may have been a planned attack.

Detective Constable James Readman said: “I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the attack or may have information regarding this incident. 

Police have made no arrests as yet.
