Line of Duty star involved in terrifying crash between HGV and taxi

Line of Duty star Martin Compston, had a lucky escape after the taxi that he was travelling in was hit by an HGV.

34-year-old Martin, who plays Steve Arnott in the hit TV series, was on his way to a Manchester hotel, when the taxi he was in was struck by the HGV.

According to the cab driver, 71-year-old Derek Burton, the HGV struck the side of the cab, where Martin Compston was sitting, at approximately 10mph, causing significant damage to the vehicle.

Fortunately there were no injuries attributed to the accident and both drivers swapped details.

Happily, Mr Compston was able to laugh about the incident, even posting a picture taken of co-star Vicky McClure hanging from the side of a truck, joking: ‘Dash cam footage of the ‘H’ GV that tried to take me out.’
