Cabbidder has appointed James Sorolla as Chief Technology Officer and a board member, tasking him with accelerating platform development and integrations with dispatch systems across the UK taxi and private hire sector.
Sorolla will oversee enhancements to the existing Cabbidder platform and the delivery of a new Cabbidder sharing hub. The hub is intended to support faster technical rollout and make it easier for operators and licensed drivers to access customer quote requests, share work within the trade and cover journeys more efficiently.
The appointment comes as Cabbidder pushes to broaden integrations with third-party dispatch providers, a key operational requirement for operators seeking to route demand without duplicating systems or increasing overheads. The company said the hub would underpin future integrations and improve utilisation across fleets.
Cabbidder’s model allows customers to submit journey details once and receive multiple quotes from licensed drivers and operators. By helping fill empty return legs, the platform aims to reduce dead mileage and keep more revenue within the licensed trade.
UK taxi marketplace adds board-level technology leadership as it builds a new sharing hub for operators and drivers.
The company operates nationally and positions its technology as complementary to existing dispatch operations, rather than a replacement, with a focus on interoperability and shared capacity across operators.
Matt Young, Founder of Cabbidder, said: “James joining the business is a major milestone. The Hub we’re building will strengthen the platform and significantly accelerate dispatch integrations, scalability, and operator onboarding. Our goal is simple — help the trade work smarter, reduce dead mileage, share work within the trade to meet customer expectations and service KPIs, and keep more work moving efficiently across the UK.”
James Sorolla said: “I’m excited to be joining Cabbidder at a key stage of growth. The opportunity to reduce inefficiency across the industry and build scalable technology that supports drivers and operators is huge. I’m looking forward to helping accelerate development and integrations as we expand.”
