FREENOW has launched its app in Coventry, extending its multi-mobility taxi platform into the city through a partnership with long-established operator Lewis Taxis.
The move means Coventry residents and visitors can now book licensed taxis via the FREENOW app. The platform offers real-time driver tracking, advance booking, and multiple payment options including contactless methods and cash.
Lewis Taxis, operating in the city for over 50 years, will provide the local fleet for the app-based service.
The app, already used in more than 150 cities across Europe, has recently expanded in the UK, with recent launches in cities such as Glasgow. Users in Coventry can now see fares before booking, pre-schedule trips up to 90 days ahead, and share journey details with contacts for added safety.
New users in Coventry can access a promotional offer of 50% off their first two trips by downloading the app and using the code COVENTRY.
FREENOW continues its strategy of rolling out across UK cities by working alongside existing local operators, aiming to combine technology with established taxi networks.
Mohammed Wasim, Greater Coventry Area Manager at Lewis taxis, said: "We are delighted to partner with FREENOW. We believe this partnership will help drivers in Coventry increase their earnings while giving passengers a convenient and efficient way to book their taxis, ultimately providing better transport services in the city."
Danny O’Gorman, UK General Manager at FREENOW, added: “Expanding into Coventry is an exciting step for us at FREENOW. We’re proud to be growing our footprint across the UK and confident that our platform will make a real difference for both drivers and passengers in Coventry. Providing exceptional customer service and supporting our drivers has always been a top priority for us. That’s why partnering with Lewis Taxis was a natural fit. Their strong reputation and deep-rooted trust within the Coventry community made the decision an easy one.”
