Gett has unveiled an innovative tech-based taxi service at Ben Gurion Airport, Israel's only international airport and a hub that sees over 19 million passengers annually.

This marks a significant milestone as Gett becomes the sole provider of a tech-based taxi service from the airport.

Passengers arriving at Ben Gurion Airport will now have the convenience of booking taxi trips using digital kiosks strategically located throughout the airport. This system aims to streamline the taxi-hailing process, reducing wait times and improving overall efficiency.

Gett's platform is uniquely designed to be the official service at the airport, integrating queue management and customer service to provide a seamless and stress-free experience for both passengers and drivers.

Additionally, the platform will manage registrations for eligible drivers, integrating this process with Gett's existing app and platform.

The service, currently in its testing phase, is anticipated to see a full rollout in the second quarter of 2024. This development comes as part of the Israel Airports Authority's (IAA) ongoing efforts to enhance the passenger experience.

Mark Oun, Gett Israel CEO, said: “This project is a great honour to us. The team has worked for months on developing a compelling solution for a first tech-driven airport taxi service in the country.

“Ben Gurion is the main gateway to Israel and we look forward to delivering a best in class product to help streamline broader airport operations and improve the final steps of airport experience to its many customers. This new platform could also be a fantastic solution for other airports worldwide in need of automatic management of taxi operations.”
