Police are investigating after a taxi driver reported being threatened with a knife during an alleged fare dispute in Carlton, Nottinghamshire.
According to Nottinghamshire Police, neighbourhood officers were on patrol in the area at around 2.35pm on Wednesday 28 January when they were flagged down by the driver on Gedling Road.
The driver told officers that an altercation had taken place inside his taxi, during which a man is alleged to have threatened him at knifepoint before leaving the vehicle without paying his fare.
Police believe the suspect exited the taxi at the junction of Main Road and Hardy’s Drive before running off in the direction of Duncroft Avenue.
The driver was not physically injured in the incident, but was left shaken. Officers provided immediate assistance at the scene and began enquiries shortly afterwards.
