As the taxi industry gears up and out of coronavirus restrictions first set in March 2020, the trade’s driver led PR group has kicked back into action with a new London-wide campaign.
London Taxi PR, funded by members of the taxi industry, have placed a prominent advertisement which appeared in the ‘Health Fitness & Wellbeing’ supplement within The Saturday Daily Mail on 29 May, Bank Holiday weekend.
A spokesperson from London Taxi PR said: “The Health Fitness & Wellbeing is a feature supplement in The Saturday Daily Mail which is packed with tips and inspiration to help improve wellbeing, fitness and health.
“We wanted to get the message across about the importance of maintaining health and safety to the travelling public at this current time, emphasising the safety and features of using a licensed London Taxi as opposed to other modes of transport.”
It is said that roughly 300,000 printed copies, distributed within the London & Carlton regions, and 210,000 digital copies are expected to reach readers throughout the campaign.
A spokesperson added: “We’ve kept with the same distinctive imagery, reflective of the on-going Safe Travel Taxi Supersides campaign, which is still on-going having been successfully launched earlier last year, and this is important so that customers, the travelling public, can recognise the safety benefits of using all licensed Taxis, with their partitioned passenger compartment, sanitised interiors and contactless payment.”
In May 2020 the ongoing black cab campaign highlighting the positive safety aspects when travelling in a taxi during the COVID-19 outbreak was launched.
London Taxi PR’s ‘Safe Passenger Travel’ awareness campaign was displayed on both sides of hundreds of black taxis not only in London, but eventually in Scotland also.
The campaign highlights the safe inbuilt partitioning between the driver and passenger compartments, the sanitised interiors and the ability to perform contactless payments in all taxis.
