Police appeal for the driver of white Toyota Prius after pedestrian dies during collision in London

Officers are appealing for dashcam footage and witnesses as they attempt to identify the driver of a car involved in a fatal collision in Ealing.

Police were called at approximately 20:50hrs on Tuesday, 21 June to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Northfield Avenue, W13.

Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service. A 66-year-old man was taken to hospital where he died on Friday, 25 June. His next of kin has been informed.

Enquiries were carried out and officers have recovered CCTV from the area. It was reported that the pedestrian was standing behind a parked car when it began reversing.

The car subsequently collided with the pedestrian and knocked him to the ground. The car did not stop, although the driver may have been unaware that the collision had occurred.

Detective Sergeant Rebecca Collens, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "We are attempting to trace the driver of white Toyota Prius who could have vital information about the circumstances of the collision.

"I would also like to hear from anybody who was in the area at around the time of the collision to contact us as a matter of urgency."
