South Yorkshire Police has issued an appeal for information following a reported hate crime incident involving a taxi driver in Sheffield.
The force said the incident is alleged to have taken place at around 7.15pm on Sunday 18 January on Matilda Street. According to police, a taxi driver is reported to have made threats towards a woman, while a passenger in the vehicle allegedly shouted racist abuse at her.
Officers are now investigating and have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to, stating they believe he could assist with their enquiries.
South Yorkshire Police is asking anyone who recognises the individual or has relevant information to come forward. Information can be submitted online or via the force’s live chat function.
