Taxi crashes into Banbury home as police cordon off residential road

A taxi has collided with a residential property in Banbury, prompting a road closure and police cordon along part of Woodgreen Avenue.
The incident happened overnight between Sunday 17 August and the morning of Monday 18 August. Thames Valley Police officers responded to the scene in the early hours, where a white taxi was found crashed into a house, positioned facing back towards the road.
The section of Woodgreen Avenue southbound, between the Bretch Hill turn-off and the Broughton Road roundabout, was closed to traffic while police conducted their investigation. Tape had been placed around the scene, and members of the public were advised to stay away from the area.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said on Monday: “We are currently on scene at an incident on Woodgreen Avenue, Banbury. The section of Woodgreen Avenue southbound between Bretch Hill turn off and Broughton Road roundabout is closed. Please avoid this area, and thank you for your cooperation.”
There have been no confirmed reports of injuries at this stage. Police have not released any further details regarding the cause of the crash or whether any arrests have been made.
