Dorset Police are investigating an incident in Christchurch after a vehicle’s rear windscreen was damaged on Thursday night, with officers treating the matter as potentially involving an air weapon.
Police said they received a report at 10.18pm on Thursday 11 December 2025 that damage had been caused to the rear windscreen of a vehicle in Somerford Road. Officers attended the location shortly after the report was made.
The spokesperson added that initial enquiries suggested the damage may have been caused by an air weapon, prompting officers to carry out further investigations at the scene.
Police confirmed that no injuries were reported as a result of the incident, and there was no immediate indication that any other vehicles or properties were affected.
Police are investigating damage to a vehicle reported late Thursday evening, with no injuries recorded.
Dorset Police have not released further details about potential suspects or arrests, and enquiries remain ongoing. Anyone with information relating to the incident is expected to be encouraged to contact police as investigations continue.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Dorset Police received a report at 10.18pm on Thursday 11 December 2025 that damage had been caused to the rear windscreen of a vehicle in Somerford Road in Christchurch.
"It is believed the damage may have been caused by an air weapon. Officers attended and carried out enquiries.
"There were no reports any injuries. An investigation is ongoing to identify those responsible."
