New data released by Uber shows that London’s most requested trip destinations reflect a blend of tourism, large-scale events, nightlife and high-end retail, reinforcing the capital’s role as the UK’s dominant transport and leisure hub.
The figures are drawn from millions of trips and deliveries made across the UK and form part of a wider dataset examining how people move, eat and socialise in different regions. In London, demand clusters strongly around internationally recognised landmarks and venues with consistent footfall throughout the week.
In the tourist category, the British Museum emerged as the most requested destination. Located in Bloomsbury, the museum houses a vast collection spanning human history and culture, including the Rosetta Stone and Parthenon sculptures. Its free entry and central location make it a frequent arrival and departure point for visitors using app-based transport.
For events, ExCel London topped the list. Situated in the Royal Docks, ExCeL hosts major international exhibitions, trade shows and conferences, often generating sharp spikes in private hire demand during large-scale business and consumer events. Its distance from traditional rail hubs increases reliance on taxis and private hire vehicles.

London’s most requested nightlife destination was Fabric, the long-established electronic music venue in Farringdon. Known for late operating hours and a global reputation within club culture, Fabric continues to generate high volumes of late-night journeys, particularly at weekends.
In the restaurant category, The Ivy Soho led London requests. Located in the West End, the restaurant is a popular meeting point for theatre-goers, tourists and business diners, with evening demand aligning closely with performance schedules and peak hospitality hours.
Hotel-related trips were most frequently requested to The Ritz on Piccadilly. As one of London’s most recognisable luxury hotels, the Ritz attracts a steady flow of arrivals and departures linked to tourism, corporate travel and high-value leisure spending.
For shopping, Harrods ranked highest. The Knightsbridge department store remains a key destination for both domestic and international visitors, with consistent private hire demand driven by tourists, high-end retail customers and luggage-heavy journeys.
Uber said the wider dataset shows clear regional differences in travel habits across the UK, from early-morning ride patterns to late-night food deliveries. In London, however, the data highlights how transport demand continues to be anchored around globally recognised destinations, major venues and premium retail locations, all of which remain central to the capital’s private hire economy.
