Police seek to identify man dressed in just boxer shorts and shoes who caused damage to Uber vehicle

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following damage to an Uber vehicle in Henley-on-Thames.

At around 10.40pm on Thursday 10 July, a man attempted to book an Uber outside the Catherine Wheel pub on Hart Street. The driver of a black Kia refused the man entry to the vehicle.

The man reacted by punching and kicking the car, causing visible damage, before leaving the scene on foot.

Officers say the man is described as white, around 30 years old, and was wearing only boxer shorts and shoes at the time of the incident.

Thames Valley Police is asking anyone who witnessed the event or may have dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.

Sergeant Steve Kelly of the Assessment and Investigation Unit said: “The victim in this case was an Uber driver, who declined the fare. After he did so, the offender took out his anger on the vehicle, causing some damage to the car.

“I am appealing to anybody who witnessed this incident, or who may have dash-cam, CCTV or mobile phone footage, to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.

“You can make a report online or by calling us on 101, quoting reference 43250347153.

“Alternatively, for anonymity, you can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
